The oOple Invernational 2012 race will take place this year on the all-new RHR-DIRT track, the brand new clay track at Robin Hood Raceway.
The RHR-DIRT track has a CONTROL TYRE - the Proline Holeshot. These are available for all the driven wheels, including Short Course trucks (front and rear). Front 2WD buggy must be Proline tyres also. We will of course use these for the 2012 Invernational race and they'll be available on-site - but to be sure, bring your own if you can!
Below is an early video of the track we'll be using so you can get a rough idea what to expect. Of course the track will look a lot more finished by the time we're racing on it! This track is going to make for some fantastic racing and we're proud to be the first BIG event held there.
IF the weather is bad the schedule might be affected - but the Clay track has rain covers. If the weather is VERY VERY bad then we have the option to move to the all-weather track. Nothing can be guarenteed in England - but we'll do our very best to continue on the Clay.
Above: Last years winners
Last years event exceeded the previous years event in many ways - it was a truly amazing weekend of racing, fun and entertainment. And once again we'll have a Hog Roast, Live music, DJ Kirky, Prize draw, Flaming-hoop-of-death, Beer race, Vintage race - and awesome trophies for the winners of every final.... Plus lots more!
Entry fees are £25 for one class or £45 for two - this is for two days racing one day of practice. It also pays for the trophies, tshirts, stickers, pitting, tables, chairs, waste, toilets, DJ, band, sound hire, beer for the beer race! - as well as lots of other things so we can make this race memorable for everyone taking part.
This year we'll also open up to Short Course trucks - places are more limited than the main buggy classes so get your entry in quick.

THE VENUE
A 4 acre site just off the public road (B634). The site is flat , level, free draining and regularly mown. Gents and Ladies toilets are available as is a chemical toilet disposal point.
The track is a brand new clay track with lots of investment - both financially and in man hours. The track sits alongside the existing all-weather astro-turf track we've used at the past couple of events.
CARS
This is clay - your setup might need some adjustments to work well. That said, it's not too unlike racing on some of the lower-traction indoor surfaces we race on during winter. Mid-motor 2WD can work, but generally it's accepted that a rear-motor setup is best for this type of track - so maybe time to break out that old B4 thats in the garage.
THE FORMAT
The oOple Invernational 2012 will be run to a similar format to the first two events. Short Course, 2WD and 4WD buggy are the classes - with a loose guideline of BRCA / EFRA eletric off road rules. The rules will be purely on trust - but the race atmosphere will be relaxed so don't worry too much if your car doesn't have a driver figure :)
Short Course, 2WD and 4WD will run BOTH days - so if you run one class you'll race both days still. Details are to be confrmed but as previously we'll run qualifying on Saturday with finals more qualifying and finals on Sunday. Free practice will be available on the Friday for those that want to attend early - and will start around mid-day, to be confirmed.
PRIZES
Trophies will be awarded to the top finisher in every final and class - and top-tree of the A finals.
We'll hold a free raffle so racers can win some awesome prizes - to be confirmed. If your company would like to donate some prizes and in return be a sponsor for the event, get in touch with jimmy from oople.com
PITTING
Pitting will be within the big marquee tent - with free tables / power and chairs for international drivers. You can choose to pit on your own of course, but we encourage drivers to pit in the big tent as that's where the action will be.
